The Cathedral of St. Ignatius, also called Xujiahui Church, is the most well-known church in Shanghai. Located in a busy commercial district, the church dates back to the early 1600s. Next to the cathedral is a moderate building that houses the Shanghai diocese. On top of the building is a cross and four status.
